Work by Robert Pufleb

Alternative Moons is a collaborative artistic project by Robert Pufleb and Nadine Schlieper. They explore the perception of visual phenomenons emerging from everyday situations, creating an atmosphere of ambivalence, constantly challenging the secrets of the visible.
Alternative Moons is a statement become an image as well as a book, on the eloquence of photography when it comes to reality and on the perceivers’ willingness to fill the blank spaces in the image with meaning. The viewer eventually is confronted with a surprising fact – turning his/her previous reception upside down. That is where the mystery of the moons’ origin is revealed. One realizes: what you see is not what you are looking at.
Alternative Moons is an imaginary photographic journey through a cosmos of diverse moons, with photographs and close-ups of what actually are pancakes.
The book Alternative Moons won the Vienna Photo Book Award 2017.
