Newton photographed scores of beguiling women over the course of his life, again and again in settings he found suitabel: sparkling swimming pools, iridescent summer homes, luxurious apartments. There was something spiritual about his attemt to get to the bottom of a woman’s nature with his camera, to find explanation for her mystery.
